You are the Sun

You are the sun that greets the day
And spreads your warmth in many ways
You give your light for all to see
The wonders in a world of we

Yet night must come and you must part
The hours tear deep at our hearts
But morn will come and you will rise
And return to us with sweet surprise

The rays, your arms, us do embrace
The blinding glare upon your face
Although you're seated far above
Our lives are nought without your love

All that we are and ever be
Comes just from you, you see
For we are lost when darkness comes
So we just sleep and suckle thumbs!
